These are just a few of the attributes our creative team, led by Associate Creative Director Andy Gosendi, implemented into the design and development of a history book for the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust that was recently recognized with a district Gold ADDY from the American Advertising Federation.
The agency developed a truly custom piece of collateral in the book, “Seeing Possibilities – A History of the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust” that brought a complex story to life with a written and pictorial history of the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust.
The organization was looking for a high caliber, inspiring and visually compelling history book that detailed the origination of the duPont Charitable Trust and its long-lasting and significant impact in its support of The Nemours Foundation that helps them treat and care for children.
The development of the book was a yearlong collaboration with the duPont organization – working to gather essential and important information, sharing proposed designs and layouts, and developing the finished creative product, a beautiful 56-page perfect bound book.
Our creative team envisioned a one-of-a-kind, artistic book that best represented the importance of the history of the duPont family and the Trust, and the book greatly surpassed all expectations.
Several creative and printing elements were thoughtfully implemented throughout the book, including a strike-through varnish and embossed elements and a fold-over cover along with spot varnishes throughout the interior spreads to highlight chapter frames and various duPont family milestones, a timeline that spanned almost 250 years and incorporated relevant and timely historical aspects to help keep the duPont milestones in perspective, and compelling creative and pictorial aspects to keep the book visually appealing and engaging from cover to cover.
Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation, the ADDY’s is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative creative competition, attracting some 30,000 entries nationwide.
It all starts with the local competition and then moves into the district competition, which includes local chapters from all over the state of Florida, the Caribbean, and ultimately culminating with the national competition.
