Businesses Establish KingsAve Creative Corridor

Our address is 1023 Kings Avenue. Now, that means so much more. It means that Burdette Ketchum is one of about half-dozen businesses that make up the newly created Kings Ave Creative Corridor, a stretch of Kings Avenue between Prudential Drive and the I-95 overpass on Jacksonville’s Southbank.

Karen Burdette, founder and chairman of Burdette Ketchum, is one of the business owners on the street that helped create the corridor. The goal is to create a community between the businesses’ employees and attract more entrepreneurs to revitalize the culture of the area.

“Over the course of the last 10 to 12 years, a number of businesses have moved onto Kings Avenue and have done some significant renaissance and renovation of the older buildings here,” said Burdette. “Ironically, a number of these businesses are in the creative business as well.”

Our team designed the signage for each business that provides a cohesive visual of the address and each building’s unique history.

Burdette said this little piece of Southbank often gets lost in the shuffle between downtown and San Marco, but a lot of great business is being done here.
